Recreating a Symbol of Strength and BeautyClients have the most stunning wishes and Gazelle 3D Tech is always thrilled by a challenge. A challenge it certainly was when a collector in Nairobi, Kenya, who was a Greek mythology enthusiast, expressed his desire for us to replicate a symbol of strength and youthful beauty– Michelangelo’s The Statue of David. David is a 5.17 metre masterpiece of Renaissance sculpture, created in marble between 1501 and 1504 by the Italian artist Michelangelo when he was just 26 years old.

The original statue which stands in Galleria dell’Accademia, Florence, Italy, is 17 feet tall, yet, the client had been on a global quest to find a replica of the statue of David at a size of six feet. Needless to say, it was a very expensive venture, and the import procedure in Kenya and rising custom duty was adding to how cumbersome a task it was. When the client approached Impala 3D, the team of designers and technicians after a thorough study of the magnificent piece of art created by the legendary Michelangelo, made a CAD design and crafted a small 3D model which made the client very pleased.

Hereafter followed the Herculean task of creating the 3D printed six-foot statue, doing justice to David’s form and details. Yet, finally, the six-foot statue was ready in marble finish which the client had requested. However, he once again asked us to give it the white stone finish. The result was the recreation of 3D printing of one of the greatest masterpieces of all time.

If you are a collector there is no need now to keep putting off possessing a statue or face bust which you have always yearned for. Book an appointment with Gazelle 3D Tech in Eygpt, and let us help make your dreams come tangibly true.
